Verden (Aller) Germany

The 2008 European Championships will be held in Verden (Aller)Germany as part of a large equestrian event. I will keep you posted with any information I receive. I have been given a site to look at www.verdiana.de which should give you more information as it becomes available

We intend to send 3 Teams again this year and hopefully go one better and win all three age groups. Each Team will be able to have a 'run out' before you go to Germany. Please note that if you are selected as Reserve Rider you and your pony will be expected to travel with the Team

UPDATE - 29th Feb 08

Provisional bookings have been made with Stenna Line to travel at 23.45 from Harwich to Hook of Holland on Tuesday 12th August. This will allow time for your pony to be vetted at home and travel down to Harwich. We have been given preferential rates and you will all have a cabin. We will arrive at Hook of Holland on Wednesday early morning and make our way to Verden which is 247 miles from Hook of Holland. This should take approx 5 hours away arriving mid afternoon. We will return on the early afternoon ferry on Monday 18th getting us back home Late Monday evening.  Freight prices only allow for 1 driver in the inclusive price. For those of you who shop at Tesco there is a Deal in this months ClubCard Booklet which will swop £10 of Tesco Club Card Vouchers for £40 of Stenna Vouchers. They will extend this offer to us.

It would be helpful if you have a rough idea of how many people and vehicles will be travelling if you are selected.

The Open Team will go to

 Burghley on 3rd/4th/5th May

and the Mini and Juniors will be at

Broadlands on

Sunday 25th/Monday 26th May

We ask that all riders make themselves available for these competitions. It will be the only opportunity you will have to compete as a Team before the Championships

Nomination forms are available from me just e mail me on www.Englandteams08@aol.com and I will send you one

. There will be fundraising shows again in 2008 and I ask that you all support them...we have a Team going to Australia, 3 going to Germany  - 1 at The Royal Welsh again and 1 at the International Friendly at Shrewsbury- expensive year!

I am sure all the riders who represented England in 2007, which was a bumper year from winning, will tell you that it is not only an honour but great fun to represent your country and I don't think there is one of them who would not, given the opportunity, want to do it again!

 Once again

Good Luck everyone
